Frahm Update 1.1: User-Drawable Force-Fields

Hello!

Frahm has been updated to 1.1, bringing new features, mainly the ability to draw your own force field as opposed to using the available force-field algorithm presets.

Use one of Frahm’s two algorithm selector dropdowns to select the “User” mode, and then click then click on the icon to open up the Editor panel:

The left side of the editor panel allows you to set the forces of the selected algortihm on the X/Y/Z axis. The slider on the bottom sets the position where you’re drawing on the Z axis. The button on the left changes the drawing mode so that you can easier visualize what’s happening with a 3D editor cube.

The right side controls the drawing parameters, like the cursor size, drawing strength, and draw mode.

The five drawing modes available are the following:

Drag Mode: Moves the forces around based on the drag direction of the mouse.

Erase Mode: Reduces directional force based on where the mouse dragging occurs.

Multiply: Increases directional force based on where the mouse dragging occurs.

Propel: Propels directional force away from the mouse.

Attract: Directs force towards the mouse.

Additionally, the “Operations” button opens up a dropdown that allows you to modify / set the entire force field, with abilities such as normalization, padding, inversion, and copying from the other active algorithm (so you can start with one of the already available algorithms).

We’ve also put out videos explaining how to use Frahm’s existing features in two new videos available on our YouTube page, as well as Frahm’s plugin page.

You can get Frahm (and anything else in our store) for 25% off by using our current active discount code SUMMER24.

More Stuff

Impulse is almost finished at this point, we’re just ironing out a few more bugs to make it as robust as possible before the initial release.

We’re also working on some other stuff as well, nothing is concrete yet but we will release more information about it as development progresses.
