Fletcher is a dynamic temporal smoother.
Fletcher is an audio plugin that delves into spectral processing, building off of our Smear plugin. What Fletcher does differently though is it’s smoothing systems:
It has an Attack processor which looks at the target amplitudes of each frequency in the spectrum, and slowly moves towards them, the time it takes is determined by a factor band controller. (kind of like a compressor, maybe?)
It has a Release processor which is also set with a factor band controller, and what it does is generate additional sound after the input signal has already gone quiet (kind of like a reverb).
Fletcher also has dynamic harmonic generation, a Contrast processor for automatically picking out contrasting frquencies and boosting / cutting them, and a noise wash processor.
All of these together allow for Fletcher to process sound in a way that is unique and flexible for different styles of music production / sound design
